How a part gets to your truck
Nothing here is ordered from a catalog. Every part on our shelves came off a vehicle in our own yard, and the tag on it says which one.
Stock no. on the glass
Vehicles arrive at 450 S. 11th Street and get a stock number on the windshield before anything comes off them. That number follows every part pulled from that car, so when you call about a door or a transmission we know which vehicle it came from.
Pulled to order
Engines, transmissions, doors and panels are pulled by the crew and staged, winter or summer. The engine in this truck bed went out on a snowy Milwaukee morning. When you buy a heavy part, the same crew loads it onto your truck or trailer.
Tagged and shelved
Each part is hand-tagged in grease pencil and put away by type: steering columns hung from the rafters, alternators sorted domestic and FOREIGN, wheels numbered on the rack. That is how Dave at the counter can answer a phone call with a yes or a no.
What comes off the vehicles
Motors and trans are what most people call about. We also rack doors and panels outdoors, number every wheel, and keep a hand-marked FOREIGN aisle for alternators and starters.
Engines and transmissions pulled from vehicles in our yard, staged on pallets with a stock tag. Repeat buyers come back to us for motors and trans year after year.
